## Summary
Olympique de Marseille may sell winger Igor Paixao with less than five days remaining in the summer transfer window. Analyst Walid Acherchour called such a move potentially 'dramatic' for the club, warning that losing him this late would hurt squad depth and complicate any effort to bring in a replacement before the deadline.

## Key points
- Fewer than five days remain before the transfer window closes
- Igor Paixao could be sold by Olympique de Marseille
- Analyst Walid Acherchour called a potential sale 'dramatic' during RMC's Génération After

Olympique de [Marseille](https://lesportifplus.com/tag/marseille/) faces a tense final stretch of the summer [transfer window](https://lesportifplus.com/tag/transfer-window/), with winger [Igor Paixao](https://lesportifplus.com/tag/igor-paixao/) reportedly on the verge of being sold before the deadline closes in less than five days. Football analyst Walid Acherchour warned on RMC’s Génération After that such a departure would be a damaging blow for the club’s sporting project.

## Why would selling Paixao be so damaging for OM?

According to Acherchour, losing Paixao at this stage of the market would weaken Marseille’s squad depth just as the season gets underway, leaving the club short on attacking options with little time to recruit a replacement. He stressed that the timing of any sale, so close to the transfer deadline, would make it especially hard for OM to reinvest the funds effectively.

> “Selling Paixao now would be dramatic for Marseille,” Acherchour said during the broadcast.

## What is the current situation at Marseille?

The Ligue 1 club finds itself in a period of uncertainty as the transfer window nears its close, with internal tension reportedly building around player movement decisions. Paixao, who has been a key attacking piece for the team, remains a subject of transfer speculation, though no official confirmation of a sale has been made public.

## What happens next for OM and Paixao?

With the market closing within days, Marseille’s leadership faces a narrow window to finalize any outgoing deal or firmly commit to keeping Paixao for the season. Analysts like Acherchour argue that a late sale without a ready replacement could disrupt the squad’s balance heading into a crucial phase of competition.
