Kretinsky Set to Become West Ham’s Largest Shareholder, Edging Out Staveley

كريتينسكي يتفق على أن يصبح أكبر مساهم في وست هام ويستبعد أماندا ستافلي

Czech businessman Daniel Kretinsky has agreed a deal that will make him the largest shareholder at West Ham United, a move that effectively rules out British financier Amanda Staveley from acquiring a controlling stake in the Premier League club.

What has been agreed?

Kretinsky, who already held a minority stake in West Ham, has struck terms to expand his holding and take the position of the club’s biggest individual shareholder. The agreement strengthens his influence over the east London side, which has seen prolonged uncertainty over its ownership structure in recent years as various parties explored buying in.

Why does this shut out Amanda Staveley?

Staveley, best known for fronting the Saudi-backed consortium that bought Newcastle United, had been linked with a possible move to take a significant position at West Ham. Kretinsky’s agreement to boost his shareholding effectively closes that door, leaving the Czech billionaire best placed to steer the club’s future direction rather than Staveley’s camp.

The deal represents a significant shift in the balance of power at the London Stadium, sources close to the club indicated.

What does this mean for West Ham?

With Kretinsky now positioned as the dominant shareholder, attention will turn to how much influence he exerts over boardroom decisions, transfer strategy and the club’s long-term ownership model. West Ham’s existing board, including long-standing figures such as David Sullivan and David Gold’s family, will need to navigate the new power dynamic as Kretinsky consolidates his position.
